Nomadic families live 5-10 km apart in order to graze their yak and sheep on the Tibetan Plateau. This makes it difficult for children to attend day schools, so in 2007 Ayang Rinpoche supplemented the government’s contribution to help build a new boarding school in Rima Village, Rinpoche’s birthplace area. Now 125 boys and girls aged 7-12 years are receiving instruction in Tibetan, Chinese and mathematics. With money from a Rotary grant, a new well has been built and summer and winter uniforms and shoes purchased for all the children. This summer, with funds donated by the Dorothea Haus Ross Foundation and personal contributions, construction will start on a new kitchen and dining room, as well as additional dormitory space. Many of the children are now being sponsored by Rinpoche’s Western students, allowing even the poorest children to have all the necessary supplies, food and clothing to attend school. For only $180 per year you can make a difference in a Tibetan child’s future. Please consider making a donation to the Ayang Monastery Clinic in Tibet at http://ayangrinpoche.org or to sponsor a Tibetan refugee child in India.

At Rinpoche’s request, in 2004 two of his Western students travelled to Tibet to try to find ways to reduce maternal mortality in his monastery area. Local nomads and village leaders requested that a clinic be built and doctors trained to help meet the health needs in the community. In 2005 researchers and Western doctors brought clean birthing kits and other medical supplies and helped train Tibetan health care workers. After receiving a grant from the Dorothea Haus Ross Foundation and generous donations from Rinpoche’s students, in 2006 construction of a new clinic building got underway with a land blessing from Achu Rinpoche. The clinic was finished in 2007 and with grants from The Rotary Foundation, Direct Relief International and personal donations, medical equipment and an ambulance were purchased. By the summer of 2008 the village doctors were treating 20-50 patients every day. Please consider making a donation to the Ayang Monastery Clinic in Tibet or to sponsor a Tibetan refugee child in India.donations may be made at http://ayangrinpoche.org/donations/

The Jaden Cornelious Foundation are presently seeking funds to assist causes that are very much close to our heart. I have posted this appeal as I know Jaden personally. He is a good and most talented man, who like all true humantarians has no thought of his own needs but strives constantly to serve others less fortunate than himself. His association with the Gesar Foundation, Olivia Newton John, Jennifer Crestol and others including konchog Norbu is no accident. Always Jaden is seeking friendship for the vulnerable across the world. Follow the link to read more about this fine young recording artist and His asperations for happiness among us all. https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=b0OzBiRt8U2JooLqW3ijck1n7CzkzEjXnGuD_qKUmNbIUxaNqmvX414Ehda&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1ffc45dc241d84e953ae3a912d7415d1a97451b677930c8a71

We often fail to recognise the good intentions of young people. Below is a letter written to me telling of the intentions of William Barsley. William is a friend of Lisa Emberson, daughter of Terry Emberson, a great humantarian living in Devon England.
Hi Pawo,
While in Africa Will worked with a charity called Build Africa and because of the people he met and the hardships he witnessed, he decided to complete the International Development course (the one that Lisa is on) He knew, he would be in a better position to help those less fortunate around the world. To help Build Africa further, he intends to run the London Marathon and raise £3,500 for them. Their website is www.build-africa.org.uk and their vision is 'for every young person in Africa to fulfill their potential and make a difference. They help young people to escape poverty through education and business enterprise.
It's wonderful that so many young people such as Will and Lisa - and many, many others - want to make a positive difference to the living conditions of fellow human beings. In fact, Pawo, I often wonder, with so many wonderful people in the world - the vast majority - how we are in the state that we are??!!
May I wake up every morning giving thanks for this human existence, and with the intention of helping others to enjoy theirs.
To support William directly, please go to www.justgiving.com/William-Bartley
The young need our encouragement and enthusiasm.
To read more about the work and kindness of Terry Emberson go to www.gesarfoundation.org or google Bumala Trust

Please be generous in you donations to entities providing relief to Haiti. The situation in that county defies most of our experiences but is obviously very serious. There has been much concern about charities and the ammount of donations that actually reaches the needs. A good resource is Charity Navigator charitynavigator.org.

Rinpoche was given permission by the Chinese government to move Ayang Gompa (monastery) to a more central location in his birthplace area. The new monastery is being built on the shores of sacred Nying Je Tso, the “Lake of Compassion”, also called the “Lake of 21 Taras”.
In 2005, His Holiness Chungsang Rinpoche, one of the two supreme heads of the Drikung Kagyu lineage, visited the new monastery to give his blessings.
Building is under way and we are in need of funds to continue. Please consider making a donation to the Ayang Monastery in Tibet

The Amitabha Mandala Temple and Retreat Center is currently under construction on a mountain top in the Kathmandu Valley. The complex will contain 64 self contained retreat cottages arranged in clusters of 8, each dedicated to a particular practice.
The center will offer the precious opportunity of retreat in a secluded yet supportive environment to both lay an ordained Dharma practitioners, men a women, of both Eastern and Western backgrounds. My friend is a Tibetan Khenpo with very little, almost no means of income. I am trying to raise some money for general expenses such as living expenses and program expenses.
